Matcha has so many benefits. Just some of the benefits include:
- Packed with antioxidants
- Boosts metabolism and burns calories
- Detoxifies effectively and naturally
- Calm and relaxing to mind and body
- Rich in fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins
- Enhances mood and aids in concentration
- Provides vitamin C, selenium, chromium, zinc and magnesium
- Prevents disease
- Lowers cholesterol and blood sugar (1)
I try to have matcha as much as I can throughout the week. If my schedule allows, I’ll have one at least once a day. There are a number of experts in functional medicine that really believe in the benefits – specifically Dr. Michael Greger and Dr. Josh Axe are two doctors that I respect.
Here are the 6 steps to make a matcha almond latte. If you need a recommendation on the brand of Matcha, I’ve personally enjoyed this one.
Grab your milk frother. I use the Nespresso brand, but you could use a blender as well
Next, you’ll want to grab your almond milk. I’ve been using New Barn Organic Unsweetened Almond Milk. (link below)
Grab your Organic Matcha Powder and a small spoon. I’ve used this brand and have liked it so far.
The next step is starting the frother. You can prepare this drink either warm or cold (iced)
Now, as the milk spins in the frother (or in your blender), add your scoop of Matcha and allow mixing/blending to begin.
Froth until fully blended. Enjoy warm or pour over ice to create an iced almond matcha latte
